Snapshot of a Statement

Have you ever stopped and thought about some of things you say on any given day? Have you ever sat quietly and really listened to your kids’ conversations in the car? Have you ever thought of taking a snapshot of a statement?

Here's mine...

“Don’t forget to not hurt anybody on purpose.
Do not hit them in the face.”
-John 3:18

One of Archer's new favorite shows is Doc McStuffins. There is an episode where someone gets hit in the face on accident. The show talks about how one character wouldn't hit the other on purpose. So, they do the whole "I'm sorry... I forgive you." thing.

Archer was telling me about this episode. When he was done, he said, "There is a verse that goes with that. It says, 'Don't forget to not hurt anybody on purpose. Do not hit them in the face. John 3:18'"

I almost died. I love it. I did look up John 3:18... it doesn't say that.

The other day, I told Avery not to jump off the air mattress in to the side of our friend's tent. I explained that the tent might rip. She replied in a sweet, polite voice, "Mommy, please stop talking."

That's the best kid story I've heard... possibly ever. So funny!
My 3 year old cracked me up the other day when I told him we were going to play with a new friend, William, and William's little sister. I heard him tell his little brother, "You want to play with Vanilla's sister?" Apparently he had never met anyone named William!
